Alumni CLE Series: To Label or Not To Label: GMO's and the Great Label Debate

The Alumni CLE Series Presents "To Label or Not to Label: GMOs and the Great Label Debate" Professor Donna Byrne will explore the legal issues surrounding and underlying the current debate about whether food companies may or should be required to add labels informing consumers whether a product contains genetically modified foods. The presentation will examine efforts to require or prevent labeling at the state and federal levels, and legal arguments raised by proponents and opponents of labeling.

$30 to attend in person or via webcast. Free for '13-'14 grads, current students, faculty (including adjuncts), and staff. To register to attend for free, email Cathy.Englin@wmitchell.edu.

World without Genocide Presents "Watchers of the sky"
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

William Mitchell College of Law

Open to the public; no reservations are necessary.

$10 general public, $5 students and seniors, free to Mitchell students.

$35 2 standard CLE credits (pending), $35 2 POST credits (pending), 2 clock hours for educators, PLP for Mitchell students.

Watchers of the Sky, a Sundance Award-winning film, tells the story of Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term ‘genocide,’ and those who carry on his legacy to promote peace and pursue justice. The film presents efforts from the Nuremberg Trials to the International Criminal Court, from Bosnia and Rwanda to Darfur, and from impunity to human rights law.  Watchers has been shown in Geneva, Switzerland for the 25th Session of the UN Human Rights Council and has premiered in key US cities.
